June 29 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

July 20, 2019, marks the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, a monumental achievement in space exploration. To commemorate this golden anniversary, please join us at Chatham Community Library for “Man and the Moon,” a celebration of the moon and humans’ relationship to it.

Guest speaker Paul K. Byrne, Ph.D, Assistant Professor of Planetary Geology at North Carolina State University, will describe how the moon was formed, and how the Apollo 11 mission contributed to our understanding of the moon.

This program is appropriate for ages 8 to adult.
